Bayo, Why Are You So Priceeeeey?

I really wanted this Bayo scalloped, gray top.

Although it was a little big for me (says the BF) and that they don't have my size anymore, I still wanted to get it and just have it altered. BUT, when I checked the tag, it there was no way I'm cashing out P990ish for this. I would rather add a few more hundred pesos and get something from Mango/Zara. I kinda hated myself because I wanted to support Filipino brands. However, the quality of this Bayo top wasn't worth the tag at all.

I ended up buying the jeans instead. It had a thick and sturdy fabric with a good price to boot. And they had it in a size that fits me.

I'm not sure why I dropped by the store that day (I usually don't kasi. Maybe because this top caught my eye and I wanted to look like a mermaid for a change). I only buy Bayo goodies during their 50% OFF sale events. I feel that the store's putting on the REAL price tags on these days.

  1. I think Bayo is reasonably priced na compared to Kamiseta or Plains and Prints. I have a lot of their clothes and they stand the test of time.

  2. sis! super ganda ng top!!! I agree with you on the pricey price tags of Bayo and other local brands, I support Filipino made products but sana hindi siya almost same price with the international brands! Mahalin na lang nila ang products nila sa ibang bansa! heheheh :)

  3. I know how you feel about wanting to support local brands but they're 3-4x more expensive than imports such as Forever21. :(

Going back to the tiered top--have the branch call another to check for your size. You totally rocked those threads! :)

  4. Ooooh, the great Mel! Thanks for letting me know that Bayo stuff can be quality pieces. :)

This piece was just too overpriced in my opinion. would get it in a heartbeat if it were on 50%sale.

Nikki, naku, you would love this in person more. i know you love classic pieces and this top will look good on you.

Phoebs, i actually wanted to do that (let em call another branch) but i was too shy to request for it. See, in our country, most attendants would snap at customers for making those types of requests (unless you're a foreigner-looking client, i guess). i could've asked for them to call up another branch but the attendant looked really grumpy and i wasn't in the mood to be snapped at.

  5. I think supporting local brands is a great thing however like you, I draw the line when it comes to quality and pricing. If the price doesn't match the quality, it's a no-go for me too. I must say though that it is an adorable top. I hope you find a similar one at a more reasonable price! :)

Hope you had a lovely Easter <3

  11. I actually thought of that too. It's way too expensive. But I always end up buying stuff from another Bayo shop called Kids of Bayo which is a super cool store for kids. It doesn't break the bank since I have a discount card. hehe.
